VeloGrit Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Version 1.0 · 10 September 2026

These terms apply to the use of VeloGrit, an online cycling coach that reads your training and recovery data from intervals.icu and bases a training plan and advice on it. By creating an account or taking out a subscription, you agree to these terms. Read them before you pay; they set out your rights as well as the limits of what VeloGrit promises.

1Who VeloGrit is

Referred to below as "VeloGrit", "we" or "us". You, the user, are addressed as "you".

2What these terms apply to

These terms apply to every use of VeloGrit: the website at velogrit.cc, the web application, and everything derived from it. Deviating arrangements only apply if we have confirmed them in writing.

VeloGrit is offered to consumers in the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. If you live outside those countries, you cannot take out a subscription.

We may amend these terms. For substantive changes we'll let you know at least thirty days in advance, at the email address you signed up with. If you disagree, you can cancel your subscription before the change takes effect.

3What VeloGrit is — and isn't

VeloGrit builds training plans and gives advice based on your own data and on a language model. It is a tool, not a service delivered by a human coach.

VeloGrit is not a medical device and doesn't give medical advice. The advice doesn't replace a doctor, sports physician, physiotherapist or dietitian. Consult a doctor before starting a training programme, especially with existing complaints, cardiovascular conditions, injuries, pregnancy or medication use. If you experience chest pain, dizziness or shortness of breath during or after exercise, stop immediately and seek medical help.

A language model can make mistakes and give inaccurate or unwise advice. You remain responsible yourself for the decision to carry out a training session or not. Judge every piece of advice with common sense, and listen to your body.

VeloGrit works exclusively with data from intervals.icu. You need a free account there yourself, and you grant VeloGrit permission once to read your data and write your planned training sessions to your calendar. We have no influence over the availability, accuracy or terms of that service.

4Your account

You sign up with an email address. Signing in works through a one-time link to that address; there are no passwords. You're responsible for access to your own mailbox: whoever can get into it can get into your account.

An account is personal. You may not share, resell or use your access with multiple people. You must be at least 16 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.

You will not use VeloGrit to overload the service, scrape it in an automated way, reverse engineer it, or use it for anything unlawful. In case of misuse we may block your access; if a paid subscription is running at that point, we'll refund the unused part of the current period.

5Trial period

Your first subscription comes with five days free. You provide your payment details when you start, but nothing is charged during that period.

If you cancel within the trial period, you pay nothing. If you don't cancel, the subscription automatically converts into a paid subscription, and the first payment is taken the day after the trial ends.

The trial period is granted once. If you take out a subscription again later, it doesn't apply a second time.

6Price and payment

You can choose between two forms, both including VAT:

You can switch between the two forms at any time via the customer portal. Stripe will offset the part of the period you've already paid for.

Payments are processed via Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. You can pay with Wero, iDEAL or credit card. If you choose Wero or iDEAL, a SEPA direct debit mandate is recorded at the first payment, and subsequent months are then debited from your account automatically. Your payment details are processed by Stripe; VeloGrit never sees or stores your bank or card details. You'll find your invoices in the customer portal, accessible via the app's settings.

SEPA direct debit takes a few business days to process. You can have a direct debit reversed through your own bank, without giving a reason, up to eight weeks after it was charged; that's a right you have under the SEPA rules, and these terms don't limit it.

If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it. If payment continues to fail, your access to the coach is suspended until payment succeeds. Your data remains stored during that period.

From your first payment period, we donate 5% to intervals.icu, the service your training data comes from. That percentage is calculated on the amount excluding VAT.

We may change the price. We'll announce an increase at least thirty days in advance by email. If you disagree, you can cancel before the date the new price takes effect.

7Right of withdrawal

As a consumer, you have a fourteen-day cooling-off period for a distance contract. You can dissolve the agreement within that period without giving a reason.

When you subscribe, we explicitly ask you to confirm that you want the service to start immediately, and that you understand you lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully delivered. That's why you tick two boxes at checkout instead of one. If you don't give that confirmation, the service only starts after the cooling-off period ends.

To withdraw, notify us within fourteen days at . You may use the model withdrawal form for this, but you don't have to. We'll refund any amounts already paid within fourteen days, minus a pro-rated amount for the period you've already used the service.

Note the difference between the trial period and the cooling-off period. The trial period lasts five days and is free: if you cancel during it, nothing has been paid and there's nothing to refund. The statutory fourteen-day cooling-off period runs longer. If you pay after the trial ends and then still withdraw within those fourteen days, we'll refund the amount paid, minus the days you've used the service.

8Term and cancellation

The subscription runs monthly or yearly, depending on what you chose, and is automatically renewed for the same period each time.

You can cancel at any time, with no notice period, via the app's settings under "Manage subscription". You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for; no new payment follows after that. There's no refund for the remaining days of an already-paid period, except where the law requires it.

We may terminate the subscription with thirty days' notice, for instance if we stop offering the service. Any prepaid amount you can no longer use will be refunded.

9Availability

We do our best to keep VeloGrit available, but give no guarantee of uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, outages on our end or at one of the parties we depend on — intervals.icu, Cloudflare, Anthropic, Stripe — can cause downtime.

If an outage attributable to us lasts longer than forty-eight consecutive hours, you'll receive a pro-rated refund for that period on request.

We may change, add or remove features. If a material part of the service disappears, you may cancel as of the date of that change.

10Usage limits

Using the coach comes with an allowance per day, week and month. Those limits exist to keep costs manageable and prevent abuse; under normal use you won't hit them. If you reach a limit, you can't use the coach until the end of that period; the app shows how long that is. Creating and adjusting your training sessions keeps working regardless — we always hold a reserve for that, so your plan never stalls.

We may adjust these limits. If a reduction noticeably affects you, we'll let you know in advance.

11Your data

How we handle your personal data is set out in the privacy statement, which forms part of these terms.

The data you enter or have retrieved remains yours. You can export it at any time via the settings, and you can irreversibly delete your account and all associated data yourself. We don't use your data commercially and don't use it to train AI models.

Deleting your account also ends your subscription. Deleted data cannot be recovered; make a backup first if you want to keep it.

12Intellectual property

VeloGrit, including the software, design, name and logo, is and remains ours. You receive a personal, non-transferable right of use for as long as your subscription runs. You may not copy, decompile or replicate the service.

The training plans and advice generated specifically for you are yours to use freely for your own training.

13Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the twelve months preceding the damage.

We are not liable for:

These limitations do not apply in cases of intent or deliberate recklessness on our part, not to damage from death or injury, and not to the extent mandatory law prohibits them. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights remain fully in force; these terms cannot override them.

14Complaints and disputes

If you have a complaint, let us know first at . We respond within fourteen days. If we can't resolve it together, you can turn to the competent court.

Dutch law applies to these terms. As a consumer, you retain the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in.
